10 bini aşkın insan ellerinde İsrail´i ve ABD´yi kınayan pankartlarla başkent Brüksel sokaklarında İsrail´i ve ABD´yi terörist devlet ilan ettiler.

The MASSACRE OF THE INNOCENT CHILDREN
Photo above: Five sisters killed by ZIONIST TERRORISM in Gaza
Five sisters, aged two to seventeen, were killed in their home in Jabaliya refugee camp. Their mother, Samira Ba’lousha, had the heavy task of removing them from the rubble. These children—Jawaher, four, Dina, eight, Samar, twelve, Ikram, fifteen, and Tahrir, seventeen, were not firing rockets into Israel; they were sleeping in their beds. With space running out in the cemetery, the Ba’lousha children were forced to share their graves.

When Us Means Muslims
Must They Hate Us So?
By AYESHA IJAZ KHAN
This is in response to Mr. Patrick French’s piece “They Hate Us—and India Is Us,” published in the New York Times on December 8, 2008. The trouble with pieces like Mr. French’s (and mainstream western media is inundated with such voices) is that they only show half the picture. And then they wonder why after seven years into the “war on terror” we are arguably worse off than when we began.
“They hate us;” “you’re either with us or against us!” This is precisely the type of language that fuels the enormous credibility deficit between the Islamic and non-Islamic worlds. There is constant media coverage and vigils held for victims of the Mumbai blasts and 9/11, which is fine. But where are the cameras and the candles when the Christians and the Jews kill, when thousands of innocent civilians die in Sabra and Shatila, when air raids kill countless Iraqis and Afghans, when Hindus in India maim and kill thousands of Muslims (Gujarat 2002) and hundreds of Christians (Orissa 2008). Why is that back page news? Why are there no tears for those unfortunate souls? Those killed by NATO forces are barely mentioned as collateral damage. Is life taken by extremists only worth celebrating if the killer is a Muslim?

Three deputies from the ruling AKP, including Turkish Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Murat Mercan, resigned as member of the Turkey-Israel Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group on Monday over the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip. (UPDATED)
Israel‘s recent attack on Gaza tore a hole in people, Mercan, a deputy of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) told the Anatolian Agency.
“As what I can do is limited, I resigned in reaction to the attack. I also think that this operation was a sign of disrespect to Turkey,” he said.
Two other AKP deputies, Abdulkadir Emin Onen and Yahya Akman, also resigned from the friendship group later on Monday. |

On the death of Harold Pinter: A Giant Has Died

Sarah Meyer* sent us this essay on Harold Pinter from the Brussells Tribunal of which she is a member:

|
We are sad to learn that Harold Pinter, honorary member of the BRussells Tribunal, died today, Christmas day 2008, at the age of 78.
The last thing he wrote was a contribution for the 95 Statements commemorating five years of war in Iraq (10 March 2008) - Brussells Tribunal
“The invasion of Iraq was a criminal act.
The occupation of Iraq remains a criminal act.
The British government under Blair and the United States administration are war criminals.
It’s as simple as that.”
The BRussells Tribunal is very sad to lose one of its most outspoken and courageous members. Harold Pinter could have joined the “silent choir” of politicians, journalists, artists, writers who did nothing to prevent the US invasions in Afghanistan, Iraq….. But he did speak, and his Nobel Lecture when he received the Nobel Prize in 2005 , shows a great writer with a conscience, a human being with an aspiration to justice seldom seen.
“The invasion of Iraq was a bandit act, an act of blatant state terrorism, demonstrating absolute contempt for the concept of international law. The invasion was an arbitrary military action inspired by a series of lies upon lies and gross manipulation of the media and therefore of the public; an act intended to consolidate American military and economic control of the Middle East masquerading – as a last resort – all other justifications having failed to justify themselves – as liberation. A formidable assertion of military force responsible for the death and mutilation of thousands and thousands of innocent people. We have brought torture, cluster bombs, depleted uranium, innumerable acts of random murder, misery, degradation and death to the Iraqi people and call it ‘bringing freedom and democracy to the Middle East’.
Harold Pinter, honorary member of the
BRussells Tribunal – Nobel Lecture
07 Dec 2005
It couldn’t be clearer. The Iraqi people, the peace movement worldwide and every honest man who wants to see justice prevail, will remember Harold Pinter not only as one of the greatest authors of his generation, but also as a beacon of wisdom and sanity. Harold Pinter did what every intellectual ought to do: stand against the imperial aspirations of the USA and part of Europe.
We will always remember him, and so will the Iraqi people.
